Today I am 34 weeks pregnant. The babies kidneys are now developed and her liver can process some waste products. Her finger nails have reached the end of her finger tips. Most of her basic development is now complete and she will spend the next few weeks growing. She is about 18.5 inches long and weighs about 5.5 pounds. She is about the size of a honeydew melon.

Friends Not Food
I have a small zoo at my house, as most of you know. Today it is time to meet my predators. I'm not talking about a lion or a bear or anything like that. The two animals I am talking about is my ball python Princess, and my bearded dragon Drake. Now I know they are considered predators but it seems that these two are a little confused.
As you can see in this picture, she is about to eat the rat. Or that's how it appears. What you can't tell from the picture is that Princess and the rat did this for three days before she finally ate him. I believe she was trying to earn his trust to make it easier to capture him.
Drake is usually pretty good about eating his crickets when we give them to him. He usually lets one or two crawl up under the log where he can't get them. I do not understand why when they crawl from under the log to sit on his head he does not eat them. Unless like Princess he is gaining their trust to make it easier to capture them. When I see this happen with these two I remember the story Finding Nemo when the sharks are at a meeting trying to learn that fish are friends and not food. They make friends with Nemo's dad and Dori but end up not being able to handle the temptation of Dori's blood and chase them down to eat them. Of course Dori and Nemo's dad had a happier ending then the rat and the cricket and escaped.

Baby Shower
Saturday we had a baby shower. I say we because it wasn't the normal baby shower. It was a baby shower where men, women, and children were all welcome. Here are some pictures of the event for those who could not make it.

33 Weeks
Today I am 33 weeks pregnant. The baby is just a smaller version of herself now, everything is proportioned. She is about 18.5 inches long and weighs just under 5 pounds. If she were a boy, which she is not, her testicles would drop this week.

Project Basement
A few weeks ago I was the Demolition Woman and ripped down the wall in our basement. The basement is now pretty much complete and I thought I would share some before, during, and after pictures.
Before it was two rooms, behind this wall is an office.
Then the wall came down.
Johnny, his dad, and brother worked hard to fix where the wall was ripped out.
No longer just a hole in the drywall.
I was the painter.
Here is the almost finished project. I say almost because we will be painting white lines on the floor to make it look like a football field. Then it will be complete!

My Valentine
I have never really been a fan of Valentines day and have never really chose to celebrate it. However you can't tell a 6 year old not to, so when I came home from work last night and saw this...
It made my Valentines day a little more special. Thanks Bella

32 Weeks
This week I am 32 weeks pregnant. The respiratory part in the brain is now developed. The baby has also gained the capability of being able to regulate her body temperature should she need to, she could perspire. She is about 18.5 inches long and weighs around 4 and 1/2 pounds.
I had a doctors appointment earlier this week, and she is healthy, but I am measuring a little small which means she probably will be a smaller baby and doesn't actually weigh 4 and 1/2 pounds.

Growing Up
This morning I got up and was getting Bella ready for school, we were doing the normal morning routine. I went to take her agenda out of her back pack so I could write a note to her teacher to have Bella take the bus home (I have Thursdays off work so she always takes the bus instead of going to after school daycare, that way we can do mom and daughter things before daddy gets home) and all of a sudden Bella yells no. At first I thought that she had gotten in trouble and her teacher had wrote a note that Bella just didn't want me to see. Then she told me what she wanted and it broke my heart just a little bit.
What she wanted was to stay after school at daycare so she could play with her friends Emily and Dylan. It broke my heart just a little because she sees Emily and Dylan every day after school. She plays with them many days even after she gets home and always on the weekends. She only gets Thursday to play with me because I work till 10pm every other weeknight. I knew one day she would rather play with her friends than her mom, but I thought I had more time. My little girl is growing up too fast and there is nothing I can do to stop it.

The New Arctic
Johnny was out of town this weekend, so I had Saturday off work which is rare. I chose to spend my Saturday off with our friends Natalie and Brian and their children. The kids went sledding and Brian built the children an igloo.
I had forgotten about the igloo until this morning I woke up and the weather says it feels like -16 degrees and we are expected to get another 2 to 4 inches of snow. With the igloo built and temperatures that cold I feel like its not just an arctic front but that Raymore Missouri has actually become the arctic.

Daddy Daughter Dance
Friday evening was the day of the daddy daughter dance. Moms were not welcome to the dance but I managed to sneak in and get a few pictures and video. Johnny and Bella had a great time!
They danced to the Macarena, did some disco, and Bella taught Johnny how to do the YMCA. My favorite part was the last song of the evening though. They played Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle.
I spent the entire song crying, happy tears of course. This song was the song I danced with my father to at my wedding. It made me realize that our little girl may only be 6, but before we know it Johnny will be walking her down the aisle too. She says she will never get married and that she is going to live at home forever, but I am sure in a few years she will change her mind!

31 Weeks
Today I am 31 weeks pregnant. They say the baby should start becoming less active as she runs out of room, however I think she is more active then ever and kicks harder each day! She is now about 17.5 inches long and weighs about 4 pounds.

Bird Is The Word!
You have met my dog Duke who loves to give Doggy Kisses, now its time for you to meet my dog Turbo.
Turbo is a very awkward dog for those who have not met him. When he eats he makes a noise that I do not even know how to describe. Before he uses the potty he will spin a circle over the spot he is going to use exactly three times. When he is excited his whole body wiggles instead of just his tail. Like Duke he also likes to give a lot of doggy kisses but his breathe always smells like dead animal. He is very sensitive, if you look at him funny, or make any loud noise he will run to the corner and cower. I do not know why he is so weird but one of his weirdest traits yet is that he has to perch on things. I really think he was meant to be a bird not a dog. When he gets in the bed he perches on a pillow. In the car he perches on the center compartment. On the couch he perches on the head rest or arm rest. If you give him a blanket he will ball it all up in a corner and perch on top of it. We call him Turbo the bird and because Shaft (my other dog who you have not met yet) has a theme song we have decided to give Turbo one too. It goes...

That's Where I Want To Go...
Well we got so much snow yesterday that even the snow day day care is closed today, so I stayed home with Bella. I was going to take some pictures of Bella in the snow since its up to her waist in some areas, however she managed to loose most of her snow gear in the last few days. Friday she came home with only one glove, Saturday she fell into a pond ruining her boots, and Monday she came home missing her hat. Since it is negative temperatures it probably isn't smart to send her out half bundled. I decided instead to post pictures of places I would rather be right now. Places with out snow on the ground. Places where you don't need a hat, scarf, mittens, snow pants, coat, and boots to keep you warm.
Australia
Africa
Bahamas
Egypt
Jamaica
I really just want to go any place warm. Where I can relax on a beach with my toes in the sand and an ice cold drink. Bella really wants to play in the snow, I think Bella is crazy! However she will probably get her way because if it warms up a bit I plan on taking her Sledding this weekend. This time of course with a real sled.

Impossible Huh???
It is possible to do the impossible when you are Johnny Lane! Last week I was wondering if it was possible to dribble a football as if it were a basketball, and when I searched for it all I found was people soccer dribbling a soccer ball. I was confused as to why it would bring anything up about a soccer ball when I typed football, not futbol. I assumed with all the millions of videos on you tube that if it didn't bring up just one of what I was looking for it must not be possible. I was wrong.
