Bowling

Monday night we decided to take a family trip to the bowling alley. We were all having a good time. Even the kids had their own lane to bowl. Cambri was getting help bowling but decided to do it on her own (without permission) and grabbed a 13 pound ball when no one was looking. We turned to see her grab it and couldn't get to her fast enough before she dropped it. Right on her toe. We left and took her to the ER. Xrays showed it wasn't broken, and we were sent home to watch it. Yesterday it slowly got worse, and by this afternoon we knew we had to take her back to doctor. They drained the toe to help the swelling go down, and bandaged it. They said her toe nail will fall off, and to just keep monitoring it and bring her back tomorrow just to check on it. This little girl is so tough and so brave and so daring that I imagine this won't be last trip to the emergency room (no matter how much I would like it to be) but hopefully its the last one for awhile!

Graduation 2013

This past Sunday my brother Aaron was set to graduate high school. We had family travel from all over the Country to watch him walk across the stage. Unfortunately Kansas weather decided to do her thing, and it began to storm Sunday afternoon. That storm quickly turned into a severe thunderstorm warning and shortly after a tornado warning. It hailed, it rained, it was windy, a tornado even touched down on the other side of town. All of this caused graduation to be postponed, and later cancelled.

Unfortunately that means several of us couldn't make the graduation. That doesn't take away from the fact that we wanted to be there, but we can't control the weather. None of that makes today any less important though.

Today my little brother becomes an adult. Sure he has been 18 awhile now  and technically an adult, but once you earn that diploma is when adulthood really starts. This fall he will be the first of us kids to go to College. He will begin making real life adult decisions, pay bills, have debts, work a job, on top of school, to pay for those things. Today is a new beginning for Aaron. He worked hard to get to where he is at and if he keeps it up, he could conquer the world. I couldn't be more proud of him. Congratulations little bro, I love you!

Anniversary 2013

In November 2002 I moved to Manhattan KS. I quickly became friends with a boy named Johnny, and he became my best friend. We were inseparable, some would say attached at the hip! He was a great guy who was there for me through thick and thin, good times and bad. Ten years ago today, I decided I would take the leap and make my best friend, my boyfriend. I have to admit I was scared, if things didn't work out I wouldn't just loose my boy friend, but my boyfriend as well.

Luckily I never had to. Since then he has managed to stick with me no matter what. Nothing has changed in that aspect. He is still my best friend. Sure we have had our bad times, and our good times, like any relationship. But I have learned as long as we have each other, we can conquer anything life throws our way. To this day, he is still my best friend.

Seven years ago today, I married that man. I must say I couldn't have picked a better person to spend the rest of my life with, my best friend! Happy Anniversary Johnny, I love you!
