Bink

It has officially been two weeks since Cambri last had bink and it is finally going well. It was okay during the day right away, but nap and bedtime were a struggle. She went three days without a nap making bedtime even more of a struggle, but we are finally getting the hang of it. She still asks out of the blue "where's bink?" I think its more to see if I will give her one accidentally then it is she actually wants bink. We are finally going to nap and bed without asking for bink. I think its safe to say we are oficially binkless. Which means my baby is no longer a baby... She is potty trained and without a bink, she is officially a big girl!

A+ Student

Yesterday we had Bella's parent teacher conferences. I couldn't be more proud, she has straight A's and her reading scores were off the charts. She exceeds expectations in almost every category, and the teacher said she can always count on her to participate. She loves to learn! Keep up the good work Bella!

Mace Windu

After Shaft died I read the book Chicken Soup For The Dog Lovers Soul and saw this quote in one of the stories, "When we lose a pet, it breaks our heart's - but when our heart's mend, they expand somehow to accept another four-legged family member, a process to be repeated many times during a pet lovers lifetime. So the pain of loss - however great - is just one step in the journey of making our heart's capable of experiencing more and more love" - (Legacy of Love - Marty Becker, D.V.M)

Grandpa's Desk

When my mom and her siblings were little, my Grandpa built them a desk out of scrap wood. After several decades of use it was a bit worn down, but my Aunt Laurie fixed it up. A couple weekends ago, Laurie, Marlyn, and my cousins came to visit and brought the desk for our girls. It was great seeing my family and Laurie did a great job fixing it up, the girls just love it, and I appreciate having it passed down. It means a ton having a piece of my Grandpa's work at our house, and the girls are enjoying it a ton. I wonder if Grandpa knew when he built it that it was getting so much use for so many years, and so many more years to come!

Lots of Laughs

Cambri loves looking at pictures. She is constantly scrolling through my phone looking at pictures and old videos. Tonight she asked me to show her pictures when she was in my tummy. She asks that a lot, but tonight she wanted to "see the big ones." The "big ones" refer to me at about 38 weeks pregnant, and tonight it gave her an idea. She was going back in. She first thought she could get in through my belly button, but quickly gave up and decided to just crawl in my shirt instead. It was quite entertaining and made us all laugh. She sure is one entertaining little girl.

The Weekend

I had a really good weekend. It started with a sleep over for the girls and their cousins Friday night. Then we had a K State football game Saturday with some great friends from Kansas City. Sunday we watched football and then took the girls to a pumpkin patch with their cousins. It was one of the most relaxing event packed weekends I have had in awhile. Though next weekend might top it, this was one of the best so far!

Potty Trained

I don't know when you can say confidently that your child is potty trained, but I feel we are far enough in the process that there is no turning back now. Cambri decided a week ago she didn't want to wear a diaper anymore. It was a fight to even try and get one on her, so we started the training process. It has been the easiest potty training, I couldn't have asked for it to go smoother. After only four days of training she has been completely dry, all day and night for 3 full days in a row now! I guess when she said "no diaper" and refused to let me put one on her she meant it!
