New Arrival

Well the baby has arrived! Cambri Jade Lane was born at 9:20pm on March 30, 2011, weighing in at 7 lb 4 oz and measuring 19 inches long. Labor went super fast. We arrived at the hospital only shortly after 7 pm and progressed so fast there wasn't even time for pain medications. We are both doing well and I am excited for Bella to meet her baby sister this evening. I am also excited to go home tomorrow morning and be able to sleep without doctor interruptions.

Ready For Baby

The go bag is packed and in the car as well as the car seat. The house is cleaned, and the babies room complete. Now we are just waiting for baby.

I know, the room has a lot of blue for a girl, but girls can like blue too! After having Bella I learned that no matter how I dress a baby girl (pink, frills, lace, and bows) people will still mistake her for a boy. So I might as well dress her in things I like, and I like blue.

Man's Best Pillow

When I put Bella to bed the other night Turbo jumped in with and perched in a bundle of blankets. She asked if he could sleep with her and I said yes. When I went to check on her later that night this is what I found. Apparently Turbo makes a good bird and a good pillow!

Wedding Away

One of Johnny's best friends got married this weekend. The bride and groom live out of town and Johnny was the best man. Since I only have a week and a half left till the little bundle of joy arrives I decided I would go out of town with Johnny to the wedding. I know, I know, you shouldn't travel when you are pregnant but I figured it was better to have the baby out of town with my husband there then in town without him. Needless to say the wedding went well and we made the trip there and back without having a baby!

38 Weeks

Today I am 38 weeks pregnant. Only 14 days left! Cambri is about 7 pounds and around 21 inches long. About the size of a watermelon... which is funny because I kind of feel like I am carrying a watermelon on the front of me.

Tooth #2

Bella lost her second tooth yesterday. This time she had Johnny pull it. Its hard to believe in a few months I'm going to have Cambri growing baby teeth and Bella growing adult ones. Seems like just yesterday Bella was growing her baby ones. How time flies!

Surprise

Today I got to work to find that the girls I work with threw me a surprise baby shower! What a surprise it was and thank you!

37 Weeks

Today I am 37 weeks pregnant and considered full term. Only 21 days to go! The baby is about 20 inches long and weighs between 6 and 1/2 pounds and 7 pounds. Weight and length varies by baby though and I am guessing that she is barely 6 pounds right now. Her head, which is still growing is about 1/4 of her body. Its circumference is the same as her shoulders, abdomen, and hips. No wonder babies have such a hard time lifting their head once they are born.

Happy Birthday

There is a lot of spring birthdays in the Lane family. So every year we all get together to celebrate them.

Happy Birthday to John, Nancy, Katie, Johnny, and soon to Cambri, and even though he wasn't here and isn't technically part of the Lane family Christian...

36 Weeks

Today I am 36 weeks pregnant. The baby weighs about 6 pounds and is just under 20 inches long. She is pretty much done developing other than some weight gain and growth, so this week I will tell you a little about whats going on with me. I went to the doctor Tuesday (I start going every Tuesday now until she is born) and found out I am dilated about 1/2 a centimeter (apparently the Braxton Hicks contractions I have all the time are doing something). I have gained a total of 27 pounds since my first appointment. I am no longer counting the weeks until I give birth but rather the days. I have less than 28 days before baby Cambri will make her appearance. I say less than because if she does not come before her due date I will get induced on it. The doctor says my birth canal is small and if I go past due date there is a good possibility of a c-section. I was told the same thing with Bella and had her naturally, but had to get induced to do so. Here is a picture of what she looks like this week!

1st Grade Performance

Bella had a concert on Friday and I thought I would share it with you.

35 Weeks

Today I am 35 weeks pregnant. The baby is fully developed and will just gain weight from here. She is about 19 inches long and weighs between 5 and 1/2 pounds and 6 pounds. Over the next few weeks she will gain anywhere from 1 to 3 more pounds. I am guessing closer to one.

The Sniffles

I know I know, there hasn't been a blog all week. I am sorry, both Bella and I have been sick. The doctor says its just sinus infections but all I can bring myself to do is eat, work, and sleep. I am feeling a little better today, and I don't work today so thought I could take the time to let everyone know that sinus infections are not fun!

Please everyone cover your mouth when you cough and wash your hands. Sharing germs is not something you should share. I tried to teach Bella that but she shared anyway. On the positive side, if I am sick the baby is sick and you can't catch the same cold twice. Therefore I do not have to worry about the baby catching this particular illness once she is born!
