Elementary Ends

On an August morning in 2009, I woke up and then woke you up. I made you breakfast, helped you pick out your clothes, get dressed, brush your teeth and do your hair. I drove you to your first day of Kindergarten. We took pictures, walked inside, found your class line, and then followed your line to your classroom. It was just the beginning of your elementary years, but all beginnings come to an end eventually.

You no longer have me pick out your clothes, I dont need to help you get dressed, or brush your teeth and hair. You walk to school on your own and make your own breakfast. As the years go by you need me less and less.

Today marks the end of your elementary years, and come August a new beginning of middle school. Even though you no longer need me like you used to, I have enjoyed watching you change and grow and become your own person, and I look forward to watching you continue to do so in the future. You are becoming such a kind hearted, loving, beautiful, smart, amazing young lady.

I love you, and hope your last day of the 6th grade is amazing. Here's to the future!

10th Anniversary Roadtrip

For mine and Johnny's 10th anniversary, we took a two day road trip around Kansas, specifically to see waterfalls. We drove over 900 miles total and saw 9 different waterfalls. There were many more we didn't see, some because we decided ahead of time not to, and others because we ran out of time. It was very nice to have two days together, and we had an amazing time, we drove by the city of Reece Kansas, a ranch named H & J Ranch, and Johnny rescued a turtle. It was a great trip, though I sure did miss the kids. Glad to be home in time to spend mother's day with them!

Johnny is 30

Today was Johnny's 30th birthday... Dang has he gotten old! Just kidding, he got carded to buy me beer only a couple days ago. Anyway, I threw him a surprise party at the bowling alley, though he seemed to suspect it well ahead of time, I think he enjoyed himself.

Cambri is 5

Wow, it's been 5 years since my beautiful little girl has entered the world. The 7lb 4oz, 19 inch little girl, came rushing into this world, and hasn't slowed down since.

Cambri, in the last 5 years you have become a little girl with a personality all your own. You are funny, smart, playful, you push buttons, and stretch the limits. Much like your brother, you are determined to do anything and everything, and you display a confidence in doing those things, that I imagine many people only wish they had. Your confidence scares us daily. You climb, you jump, you run, and we have had to learn to be there to catch you, but yet stay far enough away not to sway your confidence.

This year will bring lots of changes, you will start school and begin your first sport. With those will come new experiences, and I look forward to watching you learn, grow and develop even more.

At the same time, I hope you never lose your confidence. As life gets harder and you take bigger jumps, and climb higher, and run faster (not just in the literal sense, but in life itself) know that you can do it all! Also know, Mom and Dad will always be there cheering you on and to catch you if ever you do fall.

We love you to the moon and back, Happy birthday baby girl!

Reece is 1

One year ago today, at 4:10am, an 8 pound 20 inch long baby boy graced the world with his presence. The world calls him Reece Michael Lane. I call him son.

I cant believe a year has already gone by, and what an amazing year it has been. Reece, you were the the perfect addition to our family. Your sisters adore you, and you them. You keep your Mom and Dad on their toes, and fill our days with even more joy.

You are the most determined little boy I have met. There isnt anything you can't do. You always try and try again. Its amazing just watching you figure things out. If you keep that trait, you will have everything you could ever want out of life.

At a year old, you are walking, talking (you say Mama, Dada, and call both of your sisters Bella), you climb absolutely everything. Finally after 11 months of restless nights, we moved you to your own room, and you are sleeping through the night! You love to play ball, and your favorite food is ice cream. You have also recently learned how to a throw a tantrum  though you could have waited to learn that one.

I am sad at how quickly this year has passed, but I also love to watch you learn and grow. I can't  wait to see what the next year has to bring.

Happy birthday, little guy, I love you!
