Christmas 2012

I know this is late, but, better late then never. Christmas started Friday night for us, with pink eye. Yes, Johnny picked the girls up from daycare and they informed him that Cambri "may" have pink eye. There was no doubt she did, so we called the doctor. Lucky for us they called a prescription in without having to see her. We spent Friday night with my Mom, her husband Brett, and my brothers doing an early Christmas.

I did most of the unwrapping of Cambri's gifts, though she helped some.

Bella got a super soft robe.
And a giant Justin Beiber poster... that's right, she has the Beiber fever...

Christmas morning, Johnny and Bella watched one of Johnny's favorite movies, Little Giants.
Bella thought Cambri should be a present. Pretty darn good present if you ask me!
Just dance 3. Looks like Bella and I will be having a dance off! "What is that? New high score, what does that mean? Did I break it?" (that's quoted from Grandma's Boy, for those of you who aren't up to date on movies.)
Cambri did better unwrapping her gifts on Christmas day.

Well really only her Santa gift, mommy ended up unwrapping the rest!
Santa brought a basketball hoop, and the first thing she did was SLAM DUNK! Then she ate the ball!
Yes those are hair feathers! Bella will be "stylish" for the next 10 years with all the feathers she got!

Santa brought Grace and Claire choo choo trains.
Footie pajamas... like Cambri wears.
Cambri's Christmas presents.
And the rest of the Lane families presents.
Katie got jammies like Cambri wears too!

John liked the cologne we got him.

Bella got Johnny a utility tool that said Dad from the holiday mart at school.
My sister in law Cassie and her soon to be husband Trent made us this Christmas fireplace, they even gave an extra stocking "just in case."
We gave Nancy a Grandma picture frame with pictures of all her grandkids, she loved it!
Bella and Cambri got a Sisters book, here bella is reading it to her.
I love to eat little people! Hurry up and open it mom!
And the walking toy!

Her favorite, she can walk everywhere now!!!

It was a very good Christmas, the gifts were awesome and it was even more awesome spending so much time with family this weekend. I can't wait to see them all again this weekend to celebrate the new year and go to a Christmas present basketball game!

Birthday Bash x2

This weekend I loaded the girls in the car and headed to Topeka to celebrate their twin cousins 2nd birthday. It's so hard to believe that they are two already!

After the party we took all the girls to see Santa (Katie and Scott too!)
Happy birthday Grace and Claire, and let's get to three years old a little slower please!

Tooth

Well its official, Cambri has her first tooth! We have been expecting one for awhile now, but it finally broke through the gums. Today has actually been a pretty exciting day after an uneventful few weeks. I got home after an 11 hour shift (12 if you count the drive) to find out that Cambri also learned how to remove her diaper! The little girl is growing up so fast I'm afraid to blink.

Christmas Time

Last year we decided we were having a real Christmas tree from now on. We said this, and even gave our fake tree away so we didn't have a choice but to buy a real one. When we did this we didn't take into account that we would have a 8 month old baby this Christmas. Not only do we have an 8 month old baby, but this baby is insistent on climbing and pulling herself up on everything. A Christmas tree would be an ouchy to climb, and a bigger ouchy if it fell over on her. On top of the danger of a tree, we cannot put the wrapped presents in arms reach because she will unwrap them. So here is what we decided to do.

Our presents and tree are on the wall behind our couch.
Our Christmas tree is a 32" fiber optic fake tree.
But our stockings are where they belong.

Bella was a little disappointed that Santa wouldn't have a big enough tree to put our presents under, but after I reminded her that we weren't spending Christmas at home she was okay. After all Grandma has a big enough tree for all of her kids and her grandkids presents!

Art Show

Friday Bella's school had an art show, and a third grade concert. Our friends Natalie and Brian's son Dylan is in third grade so we went to the concert and then saw all the kids art.

 Bella's astronaut.
 Emily's planets.

Dylan's alien.

If you couldn't tell the art show theme was outer space. It's been awhile since we have all gotten together, so after the concert the kids played on the bleachers and then we all went to Dairy Queen. It was quite a fun evening.

Family Photo Shoot

My friend Steph has done a few photo shoots for me. She did my pregnancy photos, and photos of Cambri at two weeks old, and now she did our family photo shoot. The pictures once again turned out great, obviously I wouldn't be blogging about them if they didn't. So here is a preview and a link to her blog so you can view them. You can view more of her work at her blog or go to her website www.omorfipixel.com.

Veterans Day

I know it's a little belated, but our computer has been down. Here is Bella's Veterans Day performance.

To all those who have served, or are currently serving our country, we thank you, you are truly heroes.

Out

I'm gonna be out for a few days. Our computer is temporarily down and though I can do most everything from my phone I can't do what I need for the blogs I want to post (attach video and links to other websites). So here is a preview of what's to come.

Hopefully ill be back Wednesday.

P.S. For those who don't know, my job at Flying J turned out not to be for me and I found a new job. I start Monday working for United Health Group. I hope it's what I have been looking for. As for now, I am looking forward to a daytime schedule again!

Bulldozer

Cambri never ceases to amaze me. I may be a bit bias but she seems extremely intelligent. I'll use this morning as an example. Since she started crawling and standing we have been putting a baby gate up between the couch and the wall in our living room. She started doing these things earlier than expected and the house isn't completely baby proof. Mostly our two stair cases, and until they are we want her confined to the living room. She however hates being confined to the living room. Even if the whole family is in the living room she stands at the gate. She has attempted climbing (she isn't quite strong enough yet), shaking, standing at it and screaming and realized these things won't work. So she began to study it. She started looking for a weak spot. I watched her do this in amazement that she would even think to try. It didn't take her long before she found it. The way the couch is angled, we cannot get the gate tight in the bottom corner, so if you push on it the gate will tip. She found this out and started doing it.

The first few times the gate came down loudly on top of her. This scared her and she would scream. Today was different. Today I put her in the living room with some toys and then went in the kitchen to wash the dishes. I thought if she pushed the gate down I would hear the fall then her cries. I should have known by how quite it was that she was up to something. A few minutes into washing I hear what sounds like a baby crawling behind me. I turn and sure enough it was. She had figured out how to make the gate tip without falling and then crawled under it without making a noise. I am thankful she came looking for me instead of being curious about the stairs that she could fall down. Needless to say, I am buying baby gates for the stairs today and have my fingers crossed that she doesn't hate them as much as she hated this one.

Procrastination

Okay I'll admit it. I'm a bit of a procrastinator. Here is a perfect example of how bad I am. I got married in the spring of 2006, and just today did I take the time to copy my marriage license and send it to my credit card companys. I did this so I can have credit cards that no longer have my maiden last name. I probably wouldn't ever have done it, but occasionally I am asked to see my ID. When I show them it, they don't accept my credit card because the last name doesn't match the one on my ID. I have a serious problem with this at Subway in particular. Now that I have sent off proof of my name change I will no longer have this problem! Anyway, so back to my procrastination. Today I went and got a Missouri license. I know, I know, I have lived in Missouri for nearly two years I should have gotten one awhile ago, but I didn't. However, I did get a Missouri license three years before my Kansas license expired, so I am proud of myself. I didn't procrastinate as long as I could have!

Two Words

OH NO!!!

A few weeks ago I told you that Cambri had pulled herself up to standing. Now she stands like its her job. She has even gotten brave and began to let go of whatever she is using to hold herself up. Unfortunately this usually ends in crying unless Mommy, or Daddy, or Bella is there to catch her because she doesn't have the balance to hold herself up on her own... Yet. Last night she cruised along the couch meaning that walking is really only right around the corner.
