New Job

Well I started my new job last week, and have finished my first week of training.

When I first started I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I had spent the last three years in a call center environment and only knew this would be nothing like that. After having worked here a week, I absolutely love my job (and hope I continue to). I know its not the most glorious job or everybody's ideal job, but it is exactly what I wanted and more. Oh, in case you didn't know, I am a shift manager at Flying J travel center. I went through three interviews, and a iq/ personality test to get the job (that was one of the most nerve racking weeks I have experienced). I get to work the hours I wanted, I get to manage like I wanted, I get to work close to home like I wanted, on top of that it pays good, and I enjoy what I do. The customers are very friendly (though I'm sure that they won't always be) and the people that work there are very friendly and helpful. It couldn't have turned out better!

Deployment

My brother is a combat controller for the Air Force. He got orders to deploy, and will be leaving soon. He came to visit last week, and though it was just for an evening I feel lucky to have seen him at all. It was the first time since Christmas he has made it to visit, and with Bella being in school and a new baby I haven't gotten the chance to visit him in Washington where he is stationed. Having lived near Ft. Riley KS for a long time, I have seen many friends deploy, but never has it been a family member. It is hard to think that he is going to such a dangerous area, and what might come of it. I am proud to have such an amazing person fighting for our country. I couldn't be more happy that he took the time to come visit. He got to see Bella off to school and meet Cambri for the first time!

To all the men and women fighting, or have fought for our country, I want to say thank you. What you do is truly amazing, you are all heroes, and I wish everyone a safe trip home! To Matthew, this goes without saying, but be safe and hurry home. We all love you and will miss you greatly missed while you are gone!

Rolling On Down

Cambri has been able to roll from her tummy to her back for a few weeks now, but on Tuesday she learned how to roll from her back to her tummy. It took me awhile to get it on video but I finally did and would like to share it. She is now rolling all over the house. If she wants something she rolls to it! I suppose this means it is probably time for a baby gate over the stairs because crawling is right around the corner!

Take A Second

Yesterday I took my 2nd grader to her first day of school. That's right 2nd grade, where did the time go? How do I have a 2nd grader already?

Cambri started daycare too.

I just have to take a second to enjoy it because before I know it Cambri will be in 2nd grade and Bella will be in 9th grade! Oh my, they need to SLOW DOWN!!!

A New Start

Summer is over, meaning that yesterday was my last day babysitting. Today the kids started school, tomorrow I start my new job and Cambri starts daycare. The summer was fun and full of days at the pool...

Mornings of playing outside...

And climbing trees...
There was video games...
And movies...
And our fair share of Disney channel tv shows
Of course there were naps...
And cuddle time...

And other activities like dress up...

And bike riding...
Oh and a few rainy days we went to McDonald's play place too...

I am disappointed that summer is over so soon, but I am looking forward to a new start as well. Have fun in school kids!

Goodbye Mojita

In May of 2006 Johnny and I took care of some baby rabbits after their momma was killed accidentally. We bottle fed these rabbits, even bringing them along on our honeymoon until they were able to fend for themselves. Bella became very attached to them, as did we, so we decided to get a rabbit that was meant for captivity instead of trying to keep wild ones captive. That is when we got Mo. Mo we thought was a boy until he became aggressive and we took him to get neutered hoping to correct the issue. Mo came back spayed and we changed her name to Mojita. Her getting spayed did correct the aggressiveness, and she became even a bigger part of the family. When we moved to Kansas City we decided it was time for Bella to have some responsibility of her own and so we moved Mojita into her room. It was her job to feed, water, and love Mojita, and after a little trouble at first she became great at her job. Tonight she went to play with her little pet only to find her unresponsive. She came to us worried, so Johnny checked on her and unfortunately had to be the bearer of some bad news. We said goodbye today to a wonderful pet, one of Bellas best friends, and a member of our family. We love you Mojita and you will be forever missed and always in our hearts!

Get Out Of The Way

Cambri has become mobile. Not mobile in the sense that she is crawling, or even able to get where she wants to go. She just knows when she doesn't want to be where she is at and how to get away from that spot. I would have taken video of this but she doesn't move fast so you are gonna have to deal with pictures!

Baked

So the other day it was hot. Who am I kidding, its been hot everyday. Anyway one of these really hot days while I was baby sitting we decided to bake an egg... outside.

It took less than one hour to be fully cooked by the sun. Next time maybe we will try to make some bacon!

Blue Crew

So sometime towards the end of June Johnny went to a Royals game. He did like anyone does at a baseball game and drank a lot of beer and ate hot dogs. Needless to say when he came home he was a bit intoxicated. He came home with a shirt that matched his but in Cambri size. He insisted that I wake her up and put it on her so we could take pictures. I explained you don't wake a sleeping baby at midnight to take pictures and that we would do it another day. We hung the shirt in the closet and went to bed. I forgot about the shirt until the other day when I was cleaning out her closet, so today before he headed to another Royals game I let him take pictures.

Bella had a shirt before that night, so he didn't buy her one insisting she take pictures too but she is also part of the blue crew. Now I just need one too!

This past weekend we painted our living room. I am loving it. We are working on getting the whole house painted and I am hoping that by this time next year we can have it complete! Here are some before and after pictures.
